A third generation horticulturist Matt Alexander was born and raised on the family vineyards in Sunraysia and has over twenty years of horticultural and viticultural management experience.
Prior to forming av&m in 2002 Matt spent almost 8 years with Southcorp Wines. Starting as the Barossa Vineyards Manager in 1995 and completing his tenure with Southcorp as the Regional Vineyard Manager in 2002. During this period Matt was ultimately responsible for approximately 1300 hectares of vineyards located in the Barossa and Clare Valleys, the Adelaide Hills and Riverland. These vineyards were responsible for supplying a significant quantity of the fruit that went into many of Penfolds icon products, such as Grange, Yattarna, St Henri, and Bin 707. In addition to the Southcorp experience Matt has many years of experience managing vineyards from the warmer regions along the River Murray through to the Yarra Valley. Under Matt’s management since its inception in 2002 av&m has grown into one of Australia’s leading vineyard management operations with over 1,000 hectares under management.

Philip Slee
Finance and Administration Director
Philip Slee is a Chartered Accountant, specialising in the wine industry. He was previously Company Secretary of Brian McGuigan Wines Limited and Financial Controller and Company Secretary of Wyndham Estate Wines Limited, both publicly listed companies. Philip is a director and Shareholder of Blaxland Vineyards Limited, a company managing various vineyards on behalf of investors. |

Ron Collins
Project Director
Ron Collins has considerable experience in the Australian finance and investment market including a number of years with Hill Samuel Australia Ltd. (now Macquarie Bank Ltd.) and 20 years running his own financial consulting business. Ron is a director and Shareholder of Blaxland Vineyards Limited, a company managing various vineyards on behalf of investors. |
